WHO DECIDES - AND HOW? - THAT A PERSON IS A SAINT?

Your One-Stop Guide To How Saints Are Made

"Bill Dodd's 'Your One-Stop Guide to How Saints Are Made' is a witty and information-rich tour of the saint-making process. Refreshing rather solemn, persuasive and not heavy-handed, Dodd's book reminds us that Catholics enjoy their saints. You will have a smile on your face when you red his light-hearted tour of how saints themselves been more attractively revealed."
Rev. Alfred McBride, O. Praem
Homiletics Professor, Pope John XXIII Seminary

"In 'Your One-Stop Guide to Your One Stop Guide to How Saints' are Made Bill Dodds provides a survey course on the saints: the process of canonization, the patron saints. where holy cards come from, relics, miracles, Church feasts and the Catholic liturgical year are explained, along with stories of saints, the role of pilgrimages, and how you can get a person declared a saint. He also supplies a few hints for you - yes, you - to become a saint."
Robert P. Lockwood
Author and columnist, and former president and publisher
of Our Sunday Visitor

"'Your One-Stop Guide to How Saints Are Made" tells you everything you wanted to know about the process in a humorous and informative style. It could do for canonizations what the 'Dummies' books did for computer users."
Thomas N. Lorsung
Editor-in-Chief of Catholic News Service

"Bill Dodds' new book tells us in a straightforward and engaging way not only how saints are made, but why we have all been called to similar lives of holiness."
Tim Hickey
Editor, Columbia

Bill Dodds is a free-lance writer and editor and the author or coauthor of fifteen books, including Your One-Stop Guide to the Mass (with Fr. Dale Fushek). He and his wife live in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.

Your One-Stop Guide To How Saints Are Made

This is a book I have read hundreds of times, quite easy reading.

"An Easy Way to Become A Saint"  Not available currently, we are trying to get it back!

"Many think it is practically impossible to be a saint - or at least extremely difficult. We offer our readers in this booklet many easy but infallible means of reaching a high degree of sanctity."

With these encouraging words Fr. Paul O'Sullivan begins An Easy Way to Become A Saint - a very optimistic book which shows how an "ordinary" Catholic can become a great saint without doing anything extraordinary - just by using the many opportunities for holiness that to most people lie hidden in each day.

The "secret" is to love God - since one act of love is worth a thousand acts of any other virtue. Fr. O'Sullivan gives us the keys to obtaining love of God - even if we feel cold and dry toward Him now. He shows that every act of love of God in this world is of priceless value and will have an eternal reward. Fr. O'Sullivan points out that each day most of us overlook many rich opportunities to increase this love and make great strides in holiness; he shows us how to capture these opportunities and use them to please God and to gain immense rewards for eternity.

An Easy Way to Become A Saint is a book of simple, practical steps that - if we follow them - are certain to make us Saints. And it is written with an assurance of the success of these methods that is totally convincing and infectious. Fr. O'Sullivan's readers simply cannot come away from his books without being convinced he is right. The immense popularity of all his books rests in this very quality - that we simply cannot read him without imbibing his holy assurance and complete confidence in the truth of what he is saying.
